Högupplösta bilder även nåt för Sverige? Japp, genom avtal med Lantmäteriet finns nu sådana för både Google Earth och Google Maps!

Tillgängliggörande av historiska bilder

Många museer förvaltar bilder där fotografen dog före 1939. Detta innebär att bilderna inte längre har någon upphovsrätt. För att tillgänliggöra dessa bilder så har vi på RAÄ (som första nordiska institution) lagt ut ett urval foton (121 stycken för att vara mer exakt) på Flickr Commons. Aktuella bilder för Flickr Commons är:

”1. The copyright is in the public domain because it has expired;
2. The copyright was injected into the public domain for other reasons, such as failure to adhere to required formalities or conditions;
3. The institution owns the copyright but is not interested in exercising control; or
4. The institution has legal rights sufficient to authorize others to use the work without restrictions.”

Vi tänker lägger ut fria bilder till en början men på sikt skulle det vara intressant att titta även på andra bilder där vi äger den ekonomiska rätten.

Jag hoppas att andra institutioner inspireras och lägger ut sina egna bilder på t ex Flickr.
